FINALLY! I completed my event!

On Sunday, January 15, 2006, I finally completed the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Half Marathon. My parents and sister was able to come out for the event and joined me and my Team In Training teammates at our pasta party the night before and then on the race course the next day. I was so excited to have the event finally here! That excitement mixed with the adrenaline of the race day made it really easy for me to complete it. I felt great and could of even kept going past the 13.1 mile finish! My family waved and took pictures of me as I started and met me at mile 7 to refill on Gatorade, give me a peanut butter sandwich and wave a sign that said "Run your buns off Beckie", but unfortunately my dad was stuck in traffic with his cousins, my sister was trying to find my mom, and my mom had just missed me crossing the finish line after 3 hours and 27 minutes of walking/running! I bounced across the finish line yelling, "Where is my family?!?!" I was still smiling though and had a great feeling come over me as I rolled in to the end. I am hooked now. I am already looking at what events I can do next!
